Rachel's Engagement Ring
Eddie reached out to ask if I could design a surprise engagement ring for my niece in the USA. I was honoured to be asked and immediately set about asking lots of questions about what ideas he already had.
Along with the brief of a natural diamond with small diamonds on either side in Platinum, Rachel adores flowers & nature, so there needed to be a nod to her passion while remaining fairly classic.
So we went back and forth a few times via Whatsapp and email to finalise the design sketches, and I sent photos and videos of the diamonds. Lucy, one of our talented Goldsmiths, loves organic shapes and also engraving so she was excited to have the task of hand-carving the shoulders of the ring with tiny leaves & vines once she had handmade the ring.
A family friend delivered the ring by hand from the UK to the US and shortly afterwards we received the charming proposal photos which were so heart warming and romantic.
2025 Update:
Earlier this year Rachel and Eddie visited the UK to celebrate with a UK family, so I had the wonderful opportunity to design their complementing wedding rings as well. They were both platinum and Rachel's band needed to be gently shaped around her engagement ring. Fortunately our amazing team was able to create these rings in a super-fast turnaround time of two weeks! This included hallmarking which is a uniquely British, legally required guarantee of the quality of the metal used - with stamps that show our Registered Makers Mark (CC), metal purity, the assay office, the date letter for the year. In every way each ring tells your story.
